The Waterside Garage is the most convenient parking. The entrance to the garage is on Atlantic Street. For more parking info go to www.norfolk.gov/parking

We have a ship store and full bar on board offering snacks and beverages for sale. Individuals may bring food and drink on board – Alcohol and large coolers may not be brought on board. Picking up something at Waterside or bringing a picnic basket is fine. Groups cannot bring their own catering on board.

We are a true sailing ship and try to sail as much as possible. If the wind is not favorable we do have auxiliary power so that we can still take you on a tour.

Reservations are not required but are strongly encouraged. Our cruises do sell out.

We depart from Waterside and head north on the Elizabeth River out into Hampton Roads Harbor. Some of the highlights of the cruise include Old Fort Norfolk, Norfolk Southern Coal Piers, Portsmouth Marine Terminal, BAE and Metro Shipyards, Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Downtown Norfolk and Portsmouth, NOAA Headquarters, and the Battleship Wisconsin. We usually see tugboats, yachts, navy ships, and giant cargo ships. The captain does a tour as we sail out.

The waters we sail on are very smooth, even on windy days. Unless you are extremely susceptible to motion sickness you should not have any problems.

Yes. We possess all the required safety equipment and are inspected annually for safety by the Coast Guard.

Anything you like – keep in mind it can get a little cooler out on the water – especially at night.

We typically cruise rain or shine. We will not sail if conditions are such that it would not be a safe or comfortable cruise. If a cruise is cancelled due to severe weather everyone with reservations will be contacted and either rescheduled or issued a refund.

Refunds are processed on our end immediately. It may take up to 10 days for you to see the refund on your statement.

No, this is a non smoking vessel. Smoking and vaping are prohibited on all decks.

There is a chance that you may see dolphins on our cruise. However, this is not a dolphin or wildlife watching cruise. If you are specifically interested in a nature/wildlife cruise we would recommend either the Atlantic Explorer or the Atlantic Scout, located at the Virginia Aquarium. For the safety of all guests, weapons (concealed or otherwise) are not permitted on Rover Cruises’ property, including our office, ticket booths, and boats.

Once you purchase a ticket online you will receive a confirmation email with a link to your boarding pass. You do not need to print out a physical ticket.

No. Passengers remain on the boat for the entire duration of the cruise.
