5th Annual Bayou Ball: 8-10pm: Enjoy a FREE intimate evening of Bayou music & culture at the Missing Kidney Bar in Town Point Park, Downtown Norfolk Waterfront. Come prepared to bid on exclusive items donated by artists from Louisiana at the silent auction.  Dance and sing-along to the music of the Eric Lindell Band – a blues artist who is new to the Bayou Boogaloo roster this year!   All guests attending Thursday's Ball will receive one free Friday, June 25, 2010 admission ticket for the 21st Annual AT&T Bayou Boogaloo and Cajun Food Festival.  Dress is festival casual! Friday, June 25
TGIF, TowneBank Fountain Park: Shane Cooley; 5pm: Shane Cooley is a singer-songwriter with a sound and style all his own. His passion for music comes across on stage as an energetic, fun and and enchanting performer.   His original songs hit a note with listeners of all ages with catchy tunes and meaningful lyrics. Shane has written over 200 songs, since the age of 13 that tell stories about how he has experienced life and how everyday adventures have affected this small town boy. Shane's dedication has produced 6 self recorded and 5 studio albums that have caught the attention of radio, TV, internet, press and a growing fan-base, making him a compelling and distinctive artist. Shane Cooley is a unique, emerging artist that is hard to pigeon hole, with comparisons to Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Ryan Adams, N eil Young, and James Taylor.   He has shared the stage with headliners such as Bruce Hornsby, Carbon Leaf, Tim McGraw, Joan Jett, The Blue Man Group, OK Go, Los Lonely Boys and Sugar Ray. The 21st annual AT&T Bayou Boogaloo & Cajun Food Festival featuring an impressive musical line up including Allen Toussaint,
Buckwheat Zydeco, Terrance Simien and BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet are scheduled to perform as well as Nevillution featuring
Cyrill Neville and Tribe 13, Charmaine Neville, Omari Neville, Damion Neville with special guests the Wild Tchoupatoulas and Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, C.J. Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Eric Lindell Band, Feaufollet, Soul Rebels Brass Band and Lil’ Brian and the Travelers. In addition to the vast set of musical artists, Norfolk Festevents will feature authentic Cajun and Creole food, specialty entertainers and activities for all ages to enjoy. Salsa Saturdays is a new series featuring weekly Latin Dance Music hosted by local DJ Carlos Casanova Munoz.  Bring your own picnic, or purchase food and beverages, including beer and wine from Omar’s Fountain Café.

Yappy Hour: 2pm - 5pm, Waterside Marketplace, Downtown Norfolk, Celebrate The Dog Days of Early Summer with your Pup at Yappy Hour on the Waterfront Outside Waterside Marketplace, downtown Norfolk This is a special opportunity for dog owners and lovers to enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon with their best friend on the beautiful downtown Norfolk waterfront with an event designed exclusively for them. Attendees can enjoy adult beverages and snacks like hotdogs and hush puppies, while their pups snack on dog treats. Guests can also register to win free daycare compliments of WAGS Doggie Daycare. Wednesday Fountain Field Days is a Weekly Series filled with FREE entertainment and activities such as scrapbooking with Creative Memories, painting your own ceramics with Color Me Mine, storytelling with Barnes & Noble at TCC, MacArthur Center and astonishing performances by Excalibur Gymnastics and The Little Theater of Virginia Beach. Wednesday, June 30 is annual “Take your dog to work day!” In celebration, walk your dog to the park to join the fun and enjoy FREE doggie treats, compliments of Festevents.
