Inland Waterway Tour Aboard Victory Rover
On Saturday, March 31st don't miss this limited opportunity to explore the southern branch of the Elizabeth River down to the Deep Creek, just shy of the Dismal Swamp canal, from the comfortable cabin of the 95 foot passenger vessel "Victory Rover". Departing Nauticus in Downtown Norfolk, the 2 1/2 hour narrated cruise will take you around the inner harbor then beginning at mile marker "0" of the intracoastal waterway "ICW", you will travel 8 miles south passing the nation's oldest naval shipyard and other historical sites, cargo terminals, a variety of commercial and industrial sites you never knew existed and the deepwater Port of Chesapeake. The winding natural river and wetlands also showcase the waterway's wildlife. The trip ends on the picturesque Deep Creek before returning to Nauticus. There is a snack bar and restrooms on board in the climate controlled cabin.
