Events happening This Week on the Downtown Norfolk Waterfront.......
Friday, May 13, 2011: 5pm-9pm; Bubbles & Bluejeans TGIF: TowneBank Fountain Park

Put on you blue jeans, grab the girls and get ready to celebrate the end of the work week. Check out Bubbles & Bluejeans TGIF in TowneBank Fountain Park on the Downtown Norfolk Waterfront, where you can sample some of the finest sparkling wines from Moscatos to Proseccos to champagnes. Indulge your tastebuds in the finest Pink Champage Cupcake you have ever tasted.   Dance the night away while enjoying the Joe Gosman Band that will be perform LIVE. There will be lots of other 'lady friendly' activities, including a fashion show with the latest in clothing and accessories, that is sure to entertain everyone. TGIF Bubbles and Blue Jeans promises to be the perfect way to end the work week with an extended happy and great music in the park.
 
 
 
Saturday, May 14, 2011: 2pm-6pm: 10th Annual Virginia Beer Festival in partnership with Virginia Arts Festival; Town Point Park : Join us in Tow n Point Park for the 10th Annual Virginia Beer Festival. This is one of the most popular Beer Festivals in the mid-Atlantic Region. Spend the afternoon sampling great beer from all over the world. International premium beers, hand crafted domestics and local brews comprise a selection of over 125 tap handles. The event features live music, great food and, of course, great beer.

Sunday, May 15, 2011; 4pm- 8pm: "An Enchanted Evening- The Music of Rodgers & Hammerstein"- Town Point Park
Enjoy classics from the music of Rodgers & Hammerstein on the Downtown Norfolk Waterfront featuring the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, the Virginia Chorale and a cast of Broadway singers. Produced in partnership with the Virginia Stage Company
 In this nostalgic voyage though some of Broadway's best-loved musicals, the performance will feature "Getting to Know You" from The King and I, "Oh, What A Beautiful Morning" from Oklahoma!, "The Sound of Music" from the Sound of Music, "Some Enchanted Evening" from South Pacific and many more memorable tunes from State Fair, Carousel and Flower Drum Song. The whole family can participate! From 4pm to 5:30pm, kids of all ages and talents will be able to craft the finishing touches to help decorate the stage. The curtains rise at 6pm and fall at 8p m. Picnic spreads are welcome. Free & Open to the Public

Nationally known singer/ songwriter Matt Wertz will be performing LIVE at Town Point Park on Friday, May 20. With the release of his new album " Weights & Wings", Matt Wertz will be heading back on the road, after a three year hiatus, to reconnect with his fans and share the songs he's worked so hard on. Matt Wertz will be kicking off the Outdoor Summer Concert Season at Town Point Park on the Downtown Norfolk Waterfront.
Be sure to join us for a delightful evening in the park filled with great music and good times had by all. The Park opens at 5pm.Matt Wertz will be the headliner of the event and will be taking the stage around 8:30pm. Come on out and enjoy a FREE Concert at the Point!
